Committee of Management

The day to day management of Bentleigh West Kindergarten is managed by a voluntary Committee of Management made up of current parents. Glen Eira City Council owns the property, with the 4 Year Old Program being partially funded by the Department of Education and Training (DET), and the 3 Year Old Program being fully funded by parents.

Some of the Committee’s responsibilities are:

  • Ensuring that BWK meets appropriate statutory requirements;

  • Staff recruitment;

  • Managing finances;

  • Maintaining buildings, gardens and equipment;

  • Co-ordinating enrolments;

  • Co-ordinating social activities

  • Management Structure

The current structure and Office Bearers for the

2020 Committee are as follows:

  • Purchasing Officer: Michelle Barnard-Marks

  • Grants Officer: Michael Phillips 

  • Fee Collection: Fiona Cullen

  • Fundraising Officers: Erin Banbridge and Tiffany Kinsella

  • 3YO Enrolments Officer: Jessie Edge

  • 4YO Enrolments Officer: Linda Andonopoulos

  • Maintenance: Kim Borsje

  • Communications: Admin Support 

  • Website/IT Officer:  Admin Support

  • Events & Marketing: Admin Support

  • Green Group Rep: Browyn Dunlop

  • Yellow Group Rep: Shanthani Erlich

  • Purple Group Rep: Yasmine Alcide

  • Blue Group: Vacant

The committee is elected by the parents at the Annual General Meeting which is usually held in November of each year.

Meetings are held monthly (excluding January).  Please note that whilst the Committee is involved in the day-to-day management of the kindergarten, active and enthusiastic support from all our parents is necessary for the successful and smooth running of the Kinder.

Bentleigh West Kindergarten Inc. is registered as Children's Services Centre Class 1, meeting the requirements of the Department of Education and Training (DET), The Education and Care Services National Regulations, Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (2009), Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010, National Quality Standard 2012 and the policies and procedures of the service.
